Naomi Hunter

Naomi exudes an unwavering passion and commitment to empowering young people and their families through a nurturing and child-focused approach. With her extensive experience as a primary school teacher, performing arts and physical education teacher, children’s picture storybook author, yoga instructor and through the greatest learning journey of all, being a parent herself, she brings an abundance of knowledge and enthusiasm to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation's Connect team.

Naomi is a dual ABIA-shortlisted author, with her first two books both being nominated for the prestigious Best Children’s Picture Storybook award. She is a passionate author of children’s books that nurture and empower kids and their communities through sensitive topics. It is her greatest wish that children and their caregivers will be comforted by her stories and that meaningful conversations will occur alongside her beautiful books.

She has spent the past several years touring Australia with her storybooks, visiting schools, kindergartens, childcare centres, foster care programs and community centres facilitating workshops to educate, upskill and empower children and adults in body safety and the importance of having ongoing, meaningful conversations in keeping kids safe.

Naomi strongly believes that education is power. She believes that bringing people together for dynamic cyber safety workshops can improve the health and wellbeing of our children, and reduce the current occurrence and impact of bullying and cyber bullying.

She is deeply committed to helping children, their families, educators and the wider community navigate the online world and embrace the positive and convenient elements devices bring through safe and conscious engagement.
